  4. This directory contains ports of ChkTeX to various platforms.
  5. Currently, the directory contains the following subdirs:
  6.  
  7.   amiga   -- Amiga port. Compiled by moi. 
  8.   msdos   -- MS-DOS port. This port was done by Bj\o rn Ove Thue
  9.              (<bjort@ifi.uio.no>).
  10.   os2     -- OS/2 port. Please read the file "Readme.os2". This port 
  11.              was done by Wolfgang Fritsch (<fritsch@hmi.de>).
  12.              NOTE: He has not had the time to port the sources for
  13.              v1.5; the old v1.4 binary is therefore included. This may
  14.              need some modifications to the ".chktexrc" file.
  15.   unix    -- General UN*X "port"; you have to compile the program
  16.              yourselves.
  17.   generic -- This distribution contains _only_ the source code for
  18.              this project, and does not come with any executables,
  19.              installation & configuration scripts, etc.

  21. The difference between the archives is which pre-compiled binary they
  22. contain and what kind of installation script that is included.
  23.  
  24. Before doing any installation/compilation, please take your time to
  25. read the "ChkTeX.readme" file.
  26.  
  27. If you wish to port ChkTeX to a new environment, you should obtain the
  28. generic version of the archive; as this doesn't contain any
  29. pre-compiled binaries or installation scripts.
